March Wine Club Offerings

Updated: Mar 17, 2018

Welcome to the new P. & E. Bottle Shop Wine Club! It’s the same club you’ve enjoyed, now with an entire retail shop focused completely on wine.

We are so thrilled to continue sharing our favorite wines with you month-to-month! You’ll discover even more varietals, styles and wine regions, and we’ll still showcase great value weeknight favorites along with some real gems to cellar down (if you can resist the urge to open them!).

I don’t know about you, but when March comes along in the Midwest, I crave the arrival of Spring— I often find myself trying to hurry its arrival by sheer force of will, Even when the daffodils haven’t bloomed yet, I’ll refuse to wear a jacket in protest, dreaming of warmer weather. I’ll pour a glass of rosé, close my eyes as I taste the bright, crisp wine, and imagine I’m sitting outside during “the wine hour”.

Having just recently received the necessary permits for P. & E. Bottle Shop, we at the fun stages of researching, tasting and building out our full portfolio…some stellar new wines, and old favorites that are drinking beautifully. Keep an eye out for our grand opening!

Following is your March 2018 Wine Club selection. Remember that we always keep a small stash on hand of these wines, so you can always re-order from your selection.

Cheers!

P. & E. Mullins

PS – Save the date for our sneak peek of the Bottle Shop, we’ll be hosting a Rosé Release Day Party on Saturday March 31st from 12-5pm!

2017 L’Oliveto Rosé of Pinot Noir | Russian River Valley

Vineyard- Sourced from vineyards throughout the western Russian River Valley, this adds a more dynamic spectrum of flavors as each growing region brings its own personality to the wine.

Vintage- The 2017 vintage offered excellent growing conditions. A mild winter and spring compounded with gentle rainfall contributed to early ripening, low to moderate yields and highly concentrated grapes resulting in exceptional quality.

Fermentation- The juice was briefly cold settled and racked off heavy lees. Initially the wine was cold fermented in stainless steel tanks to preserve aromatic intensity. Midway through fermentation, the tank was transferred to neutral barrels to benefit from sur lie aging.

2014 Borne Pinot Noir | Anderson Valley

Vineyard- The 2014 Borne Pinot Noir is sourced from two Anderson Valley vineyards within Mendocino County. The unique geography of these vineyards results in a wide diurnal range, with daily high and low temperatures diverging 40-50 degrees on some days. This enables the pinot to keep acid development in line with sugar and flavor formation. Part of the blend comes from the renowned Ferrington Vineyard in Anderson Valley with the remaining portion contributed from Beaujolais Vineyard West of Navarro.

Vintage- The 2014 vintage offered excellent growing conditions. A mild winter and spring compounded with almost no rain contributed to early ripening, low to moderate yields and highly concentrated grapes resulting in exceptional quality. 2014 is one of the earliest vintages we’ve seen in over a decade, but it will also go down as one of the best.
